If you want to play with the big boys, you’ve got to have the right tools. That’s why Versevo recently added a new, large dual pallet horizontal machining center to its facility in Hartland, WI USA.

The state-of-the-art machine, an OKK HM1250S, enables Versevo to handle larger tooling and components than ever before. Its specifications make it the fastest and most precise horizontal machining center in its class:

  • 1250 mm x 1250 mm (49.21” x 49.21”) dual pallets
  • Travel limits of 1700 mm x 1400 mm x 1240 mm (66.93” x 55.12” x 48.82”)
  • 11,000 lb. work piece capacity
  • High-speed milling (12,000 rpm and 787 ipm max)

The addition of this flexible piece of equipment allows Versevo to cost effectively manufacture larger dies, molds and patterns. It’s part of the company’s strategy to lead the casting industry as a multi-disciplined designer and manufacturer of complex tooling.

What does this mean to Versevo customers?

With the addition of the OKK HM1250S, Versevo can handle significantly larger work pieces. “In terms of its X, Y and Z dimensions and weight capacity, it’s more than twice the size of anything we’ve had in-house before,” explains Versevo President and CEO Terry Moon.

Bringing the capability to machine large tooling components in-house gives the company exceptional control over its lead times and part quality, something that OEM’s, Tier 1, and Tier 2 companies expect. The OKK HM1250S’ speed and precision ensures that even the largest and most complex machining jobs can be handled quickly and efficiently.

“This new horizontal machining center will enable us to bring first-pass success to a broader range of customer needs than ever before,” Moon adds. “If you need large-format tooling with world-class precision and quality, we can help you.”
